A MESSAGE FROM LT. GOVERNOR BRAD OWEN

As we move through the first years of the 21st century, Washington State is rapidly becoming more integrated with the world community. The future of our young people, our communities, our economy and our way of life rest largely on our vision for the future. So we must work hard to protect our future by doing well in the present moment. This includes addressing everything from youth violence and substance abuse issues to securing our place in the vibrant and growing international trade market.

My office has worked hard to provide the people of the state of Washington with the kind of service and commitment that they deserve from their Lieutenant Governor.  We have undertaken many projects that reflect our focus to "Help kids grow up healthy in safe communities with opportunity." This focus includes Economic Development & International Relations, Substance Abuse & Alcohol Prevention and community involvement.

Every year my office also produces several publications including a
Drug Resource Guide, "Say it Straight", Marijuana brochure, and a newsletter. 

My wife Linda has also volunteered her time to organize and chair the Lt. Governor's Art Council, which promotes Washington artists with outstanding works featured quarterly throughout my office.
