Preventing substance abuse

Lt. Governor Owen was in
Kennewick on Oct. 20, 2006 to present the
Washington Substance Abuse Awards
as part of the
Prevention Summit.
The Program Recognition Award was received
by the Martin Luther King Family Outreach Center in
Spokane. Accepting the award (to the lieutenant
governor's right) was Austin DePaolo, executive
director, along with four students from the center and
Frida Gandy, child services director. To Lt. Gov. Owen's
left is Ivon Urquilla, the
2006 recipient of the
Center for Substance Abuse Prevention's
fellowship. |
