Governor Owen met with Indonesian Consul General Asianto Sinambela (above), Consul Okto Manik and Vice Consul Vita Novianti on March 19 in his office. This was the consul general’s first visit to Washington since his appointment to his position on Jan. 15. Consul General Sinambela expressed his desire to expand existing relationships between Boeing and the Indonesian carrier Garuda. As Indonesia is also looking to expand its agriculture sector, the consul general is also interested in exchanges that will result in new and better technology and techniques being applied to agricultural endeavors in his country. Germany consul general says Guten Tag!  Lt. Governor Owen greets Peter Rothen, consul general of Germany in San Francisco, in his office on March 16. Rothen, appointed to his position last July, was making his first visit to Washington and paid courtesy calls on Governor Gregoire, Lt. Governor Owen and Secretary of State Sam Reed. Rothen was joined by Petra Walker, Germany’s honorary consul for Washington. |
