Lt. Governor Owen takes a last look at
his boyhood home in Tacoma's Salishan housing community

Lt. Governor Owen
and officials with the
Tacoma Housing Authority and
Safe Streets on the
back steps of the lieutenant governor's boyhood home in Tacoma's
Salishan housing project on February 16, 2007. The house, built in the 1940s, is scheduled
for demolition as part of the city's redevelopment project for the area.
Owen recounted stories of his days there more than four de cades
ago to members of the authority then later at a formal welcoming event
at a the community center nearby. From left above is Michael Mirra,
