Statement from Lt. Gov. Heck on Sen. Ann Rivers resignation from Senate
“I’m sad to hear Senator Ann Rivers will be leaving the Washington State Senate later this fall. Ann was a friend of mine before she became Senator Rivers, and I’ll always consider myself lucky to have served with her during my first legislative session as President of the Senate. For over a decade the people of the 18th District have been honorably represented in Olympia by Senator Rivers, a dynamic and determined leader. Senator Rivers’ advocacy in education – most notably assisting in the restructuring of educational funding and para-education protections – has made an enormous impact on our state. The people of Clark County have been fortunate to have Senator Rivers serve as their voice. She will be greatly missed in the Washington State Senate, and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”
