Statement from Lt. Gov. Heck on Sen. Reuven Carlyle not seeking reelection in 2022:

“For the past 13 years, Senator Carlyle has worked diligently for the people of the 36th legislative district in both the Washington State Senate and the Washington State House of Representatives. Senator Carlyle has been a determined, focused, and driven legislator who has worked to ensure our state is always looking toward the future. Washington is a better place to live, work, and raise a family thanks to his public service. Reuven is a friend and I am sad to hear he will not be with us next legislative session. All of us in the Senate family are grateful for his contributions and look forward to seeing his successes in his future endeavors.”
