Statement from Lt. Gov. Heck on Sen. Steve Hobbs appointment to Secretary of State replacing Kim Wyman

“Senator Steve Hobbs is a patriot, dedicated public servant, and worthy successor for Secretary of State Kim Wyman. Secretary Wyman has stood for transparency and truth through some of the most challenging times our elections system has faced, and I am confident Senator Hobbs will continue her legacy of promoting free, fair, open elections. As the chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and as a Vice President Pro Tempore, Senator Hobbs was steadfast in his views and always worked for the betterment of his district. Though serving as Secretary of State will be a new undertaking for the longtime Senator and Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and National Guard, I know he will put his skills, experience, and judgement to good use in service of the people of Washington state. Congratulations, Secretary-Designate Hobbs”
